84-CARD SUBMISSION BACK FROM CSG!!!

There are many days named as the official or national day of almost any themes. There is even a National Baseball Card Day on August 7. But the national day for card collectors, traders and dealers in sports cards and collectibles is when #MailDay arrives. Let’s just say that Monday, February 27, 2023 was one of those great #MailDay surprises.

Arriving was 84 cards from a Certified Sports Guaranty (CSG) submission made at the Burbank Card Show just two weeks earlier. The shipment from the CGC shipment loaded up with over 25 Star Wars cards (including a 1977 Wonder Bread Star Wars complete set) took even less time. It’s all in all a very fast process now from start to finish.

Almost all of these cards will be up for sale, trade or auction in the coming weeks. Here is just some of what arrived (image below):

• 5 examples of the 1990 Score Bo Jackson #697 “Bo Knows” baseball/Football with the perfect CSG 10 grade.
• Multiple examples of the Tom Glavine rookie cards from Donruss and Fleer.
• Multiple examples of 1980s Nolan Ryan cards from Topps, Donruss and Fleer.
• Multiple examples of the 1988 Fleer Edgar Martinez rookie (and one perfect CSG 10).
• Multiple examples of Bo Jackson rookies from Donruss.
• 2 Derek Jeter Upper Deck “Top Prospects” cards graded CSG 9.
• 1 Frank Thomas rookie card from Topps graded CSG 9.5.
• 1 Barry Larkin 1987 Topps Tiffany as CSG 8.5.
• A 1980 Topps Rickey Henderson rookie.

And who still says “Junk Wax is Dead!” when they see these?

Other top star cards included vintage cards of Thurman Munson, Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, Stan Musial, Hank Aaron, Sandy Koufax, Rod Carew and more. Other than baseball, some great names from other sports in vintage cards included Bart Starr, Earl Campbell, Roger Staubach, and even the great Wilt Chamberlain.
